Pura D. Quintana's Obituary
Pura D. Quintana, 93, of Gainesville, FL passed away peacefully the morning of March 9, 2023, at Palm Garden of Gainesville. Pura was born May 7, 1929, in Palma Soriano, Cuba to Miguel and Ramona Perez Diaz. She married the love of her life, Valentin Quintana II, who passed away in 2016. Together they had a daughter, Maria Papallo and a son, Valentin III, of whom she was very proud. Pura loved children. She and her son worked several times at the daycare operated by her daughter. She would often show up with food and items for the children. Pura was a homemaker and was of the Catholic faith. All who knew and loved her will miss her presence in their lives.
Pura is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and her brother and sister- in-law Manuel and Yolanda Diaz. She grieved the loss of her son, brother, and sister-in-law all in the year 2021.
Pura is survived by her daughter, Maria (Gregg) Papallo, her adopted daughter, Heather Zibelli and seven grandchildren.
Her family is planning a private burial at sea. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Maria Papallo care of Papallo Large Family Daycare Home 4145 NW 30th Terrace, Gainesville, FL, 32605 or the Oaks Baptist Church 4610 SW Archer Rd #2233, Gainesville FL, 32608.
