Philip Jackson Videon's Obituary
Philip Jackson Videon, 92, lifelong resident of Archer, Florida, died Sunday, October 26, 2025, at his home, following a long illness.
Mr. Videon was born on November 12, 1932, to the late Arthur and Frances (Hart) Videon, in Archer, Florida, in the same house that he lived his entire life. Mr. Videon was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He had a long career as a locksmith for the University of Florida, a career that lasted 33 years until his retirement in 1994. He was a lifelong member of the Archer Church of the Nazarene; he enjoyed stock car racing and hunting and was a member of the Dead-End Hunting Club.
He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Shirley (Shearley) Stevens Videon, a daughter, Renee’ Carswell, and a son, Paul Videon, and a large family, Reid, Janelle, Trish, Christina, John, Aaron, Jes, Tabitha, Ashley, Nick, Heather, Courtney, Garrett, Mathew, David, Vance, Kyra, Cheyanne, Maliyah, Chloe, Autumn, Olivia, Taylor, Zelda, Mia, Rayden, Veda, Alice, Grayson, Kim and Tami, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Arthur, a sister, Philamena, a son-in-law, Timothy Carswell, and numerous other greatly missed relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 10:00 A. M., in the Archer Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Rich Norman, officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., at the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry.
