Pearl Summitt Wright's Obituary
Pearl Summitt Wright, age 85 of Hawthorne, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014. She was born November, 27, 1928 in Bessemer City, North Carolina to Cleveland Arthur and Bryte Ormand Summitt. She moved to Hawthorne in 1974 from Waukegan, Illinois. Pearl was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hawthorne, where she taught the 1st and 2nd grade Sunday School class for 25 years. Pearl was an avid gardener, loved yard work and was a big Seminole fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Wright, Sr. in 2006; brother, T.B. Summitt and four sisters, Elizabeth Dameron, Bobbie Faye Rayfield, Billie Sue Rhyne and Margaret Summitt. She is survived by sons, Robert E. Wright, Jr. (Deborah) of Gainesville, FL and Arthur E. Wright (Alice) of Tallahassee, FL; five grandchildren, Matthew Wright, Art Wright, Jr., Brenden Wright, Adam Wright and Sarah Wright Ashby and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Hawthorne, 22027 SE 65th Avenue, with Pastor Robert Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorne Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE, 301 South at Lake Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church of Hawthorne Childrens’ Ministry, P.O. Box 280, Hawthorne, FL 32640.
