Paulette Therese Minus-Crosby's Obituary
On the morning of October 27th, 1968, God's GRACE, MERCY, and FAVOR shone upon the happy home of Adler and Willamae Minus. They were not only blessed with one beautiful girl, but with TWINS. The older of the twins was christened Paulette Therese Minus.
After completing her schooling in Nassau, Bahamas, Paulette went on to complete her bachelor's degree at Sojourner Douglass College. Paulette had a passion for education, which led to her becoming a Ph.D. candidate and serving an impressive career of almost 30 years in Teaching.
In her opinion, her greatest strength was to inspire and motivate students to read. As a result of her unique approach, her students were able to customize reading activities according to their unique interests, demonstrating the direct connections between the classroom and daily life. Aiming to improve education was paramount, and she did so in an indelible way.
Paulette's enthusiasm for children was an outgrowth of her love for her own children. She was blessed with three wonderful children. She adored her only son, Kendal, and had the opportunity to strengthen her bond with him during her final months, as well as her two beautiful daughters, Amy and Madisen, who she was so proud of and who brought her such joy.
While in her adult years, Paulette learned the importance of humbly serving and giving God glory and honor. As a result of this calling, she became an ordained minister and evangelist, where she served in the women's ministry.
Paulette Minus-Crosby passed away on June 28, 2021, surrounded by the people who loved her. She is survived by her mother, husband, children, siblings: Corlette, Asbury, Martin, Adena and, Valarie, along with many nieces and nephews and extended family members. Her father Adler Minus preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 6, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea 823 NW 143rd St. A Celebration of Paulette’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Westarea with Pastor Ron Hyatt officiating.
