CSM Patrick L. Boykin's Obituary
CSM Patrick L. Boykin, 58, resident of Brooker, Florida, died Sunday, January 12, 2020, at his home in a tragic ATV accident.
Patrick was born in Beaumont, Texas, and was raised in Houston. Shortly after graduation, he joined the U. S. Army, rising to the rank of Command Sergeant Major, and retiring in 2004. During his time in the Army, he served as an Infantryman, Army Ranger, Army Ranger Instructor and Master Parachutist. At retirement, he was the Command Sergeant Major of an Infantry Battalion in the 101st Airborne (Air assault) Division. He earned his Combat Infantryman Badge in Iraq while serving in combat. Over 24 years in the Army, he received numerous awards and citations, including a Bronze Star Medal, and Legion of Merit award.
Following Patrick’s retirement he moved to Brooker, Florida, to take on the roll of Ranch Manager for the Thousand Oaks Ranch, owned by the J. B. Coxwell Company. In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Kristine Boykin; his mother, Patricia Aitken, of Houston, TX; one brother, Lindsay (Caroline) Boykin, of Dallas, TX; three sisters, Elizabeth Stubblefield, of Liberty Hill, TX, Pam Mehaffey, of Portland, OR, and Katherine (Tommy) Lamb, of Spring, TX, along with his Uncle Richard (Jane Ragsdale) Howell of Hunt, TX. Patrick also had several beloved nieces, nephews & cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 10:00 A. M., in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home West area, 823 NW 143rd St., Newberry, with full military honors. The family will spend time with friends following the service at a reception to be held at the funeral home.
