Patricia "Patsy" Towns' Obituary
Patricia “Patsy” Towns, 81, a longtime resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center, Trenton, Florida, following a long illness.
Mrs. Towns was the oldest of eight children and was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on April 27, 1941, to the late James and Vermelle Crenshaw. As a young girl, her family moved to the Ocala area, where she spent much of her young life until the family moved to Gainesville. It was in Gainesville that she met her husband, Wayne, and raised her four boys. Mrs. Towns was an operator with Southern Bell, owned an in-home child care business, and worked for Hallmark Cards. She was a devout member of the High Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church. Patsy loved puzzles, music, reading, and painting but her greatest joy was her family. She was married to Wayne Towns for 46 years, before his death in 2010. Mrs. Towns was also preceded in death by one son, Chuck Towns, in 2014.
She is survived by three sons; Milton (Theresa) Towns, Preston (Monica) Towns, and Eric (Elizabeth) Towns; three grandchildren, Nicholas Towns, Brooke Towns, and Henry Towns; one sister, Connie Swilley; and two brothers, Danny Crenshaw and Craig Crenshaw.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center, Trenton, FL, or the High Springs SDA Church.
