Patricia "Pat" Hale's Obituary
Patricia “Pat” Hale age 80 of Gainesville, passed away Saturday December 1, 2018. She was born November 16, 1938 in Farmington, IL to Everett W. and Elaine Gibson Watts.
Pat has been a voracious reader her whole life and enjoyed a time as a librarian during her high school years. She earned her bachelors degree in European history from Bradley University.
Pat worked for Caterpillar and retired after 25 years of service. She then worked for several more years designing and selling computer software in Washington DC.
Pat was a very active member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church as a eucharistic minister, a lector and facilitated funeral receptions and meal preparation for St Francis house.
She loved traveling and did so extensively to England, Ireland, Scotland and Italy.
Pat is survived by her husband, Gerard “Gerry” Hale, sons, John Crawford (Laura) and Tom Crawford; daughter, Colleen Thompson (Sidney); cousins Kay Cox and Pam Haller; six step-children, fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with Fr. Al Esposito as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Boulevard, Gainesville, Fl 32606 or Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10900 SW 24th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32607.
