Patricia Jane "Patti" Sizemore's Obituary
Patricia Jane “Patti” Sizemore, age 83, of Ormond Beach, Florida was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 17, 2022. She was born June 14, 1939 in Daytona Beach, FL to the late William Brown & Jane Plughfelder. She graduated from Seabreeze High School in 1958 and spent most of her life in the Daytona Beach area.
Patti worked as a bartender during her younger years, and later in life as a manager for Southland Corporation at the store and corporate level. For fun in her retirement years, she served as a courier for several veterinarian offices in Volusia County.
Patti was the heart of her close-knit family. She was a caregiver by nature, helping raise and take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patti made sure to spend time with friends and family every day, and you could often find her working in her garden or crocheting blankets for loved ones. She enjoyed being at the beach, watching and listening to the ocean waves. She adored animals - dogs were her favorite, and she always seemed to have a Doxie by her side. She loved to cheer on her favorite Florida Gators along with her “other daughter” Trisha MacDonald.
Patti's family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the physicians and nursing staff of HCA Florida North Florida Hospital and Williston Care Center for the expert care they provided during her illness and recovery. She will be forever missed.
Patti is survived by two daughters Sherri Henry (Craig Perkins) - Ormond Beach, FL and Tricia (Chris) Hardy - Gainesville, FL; six grandchildren Michael Tompkins, Lekisha (Andy) Kozachuk, Patricia (Freddy) Leo, Eric Ryan, Sarah Hardy, and Evan Hardy; eight great-grandchildren Saleen (Christian) Konoval, Brandon Sperry, Sierra Tompkins, Ryan Houle, Chloe Leo, Skylyn Kozachuk, Bella Leo, and Kamden Kozachuk; four great-great-grandchildren Arya Tompkins, Brielle Tompkins, Malakai Tompkins (due May 2023), and Jett Konoval (due June 2023); and her dearest friend and neighbor Ronnie Vassak who was always there when she needed something done around the house, help rescuing a stray animal, or just an old-fashioned front porch chat.
Patti is preceded in death by her parents & siblings.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with close friends and family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Humane Society at www.humanesociety.org or ASPCA at www.aspca.org.
