Patricia Ann Grill's Obituary
Dr. Patricia Ann Grill (Patty), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, in Gainesville at the age of 76.
Born on March 9, 1950, in Fostoria, Ohio, Patty lived a life defined by compassion, intelligence, dedication, and love for her family. Patty was the devoted wife of 55 years to Leonard Grill and cherished every moment spent with her family. She is survived by Leonard, as well as her loving sons, Jeffrey Grill (Ana) and Michael Grill; and her treasured grandchildren, Olivia, Zoe, Lily and Garrett, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. She is also survived by her sister Jane Cook (Harold) of Ohio, brothers Wayne Cook (Cindy) of Maryland and Steven Cook of Ohio, and a large number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Patty attended Bowling Green State University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree, and later attended graduate school at the University of Florida, receiving Master’s, Specialist, and Doctorate degrees in Education. As a longtime educator in Alachua County Public Schools and in several schools in Ohio, she touched the lives of innumerable students and fellow teachers through her professional accomplishments and the dedication, kindness, and wisdom she shared with those around her. Patty loved traveling, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Patty will be remembered for her warm heart, quiet strength, thoughtful nature, and unwavering love for those closest to her. Her legacy lives on through the family she adored and the countless lives she touched throughout her life.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
