Owen Reese Szydlowski's Obituary
Owen Reese Szydlowski was born on December 23, 2005 in Gainesville, Florida. He went to be with his heavenly father on June 12, 2025 as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was only 19 years old. He was the beloved son of his parents Julie and Chet Szydlowski.
Owen was a compassionate, courageous young man ready to take the next steps emerging into young adulthood. He was full of spirit, energy and curiosity. He had a bright smile and an easy-going sense of humor and made good friends with those whose paths he crossed. He was always true and authentic to himself, never wavering from his beliefs and convictions. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by many. We humbly ask that you remember how he lived his vibrant life and not in the manner in which he passed.
He is survived by his parents Julie and Chet Szydlowski; beloved sister Emily Szydlowski; his uncles Donald London and Greg Szydlowski, grandmother Shirley Schuler, girlfriend, Symone Valencia, and two lifelong best friends Giovanni Arce and Robert Hammel, III.
A lifelong resident of Gainesville, Owen attended Lawton Chiles Elementary, Kanapaha Middle School and Graduated from Buchholz High School. He was employed by Tremco Roofing and previously worked for Home Depot and David’s BBQ.
Owen loved his quiet time outdoors, riding on the open road on his motorcycle and spending sunny days at the beach. He enjoyed driving and working on his blue 1978 Camero and quiet evenings out with his girlfriend Symone. He had his own unique fashion sense and fine musical tastes from many eras and genres. He loved to clown and joke around with his different friend groups and would put the world on pause to be with his sister Emily.
Our family is eternally grateful for the many sweet memories with our dear Owen. There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. followed immediately by a reception. It will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church located at 4000 NW 53rd Ave. Gainesville, Florida 32653
