Ovieda Wilkerson Rose's Obituary
Ovieda Wilkerson Rose, 78, resident of Gainesville, Florida died Sunday, January 19, 2014 in the Shands Hospital, following a long illness.
Mrs. Rose was born on February 6, 1935 in Trenton, Florida, to the late Lonnie and Lessie Stephens Wilkerson. She graduated from Trenton High School, Class of 1953. Mrs. Rose lived for most of her life in Gainesville, and retired from Shands Hospital. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Denia (Steven) Scott, of Santee, South Carolina; one son, Ron Adkins, of Gainesville; three brothers, James “Red”, Lonnie and Sammy; and three sisters, Ann, Marie, and Nancy. Three grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at 1:00 P. M., in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Trenton. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral, beginning at 12:00 P. M.
