Ofelia Redero Alvarez's Obituary
Ofelia Redero Alvarez, 91, resident of Gainesville, Florida, it is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ofelia who passed away on July 20, 2023. .
Mrs. Alvarez was born in Havana, Cuba on April 2, 1932. She immigrated to the United States with her husband and children in November of 1961, living for a short time in Miami, Florida before moving to Corona, California. Mrs. Alvarez worked in a variety of jobs including as a finisher in the manufacture of mobile homes. She enjoyed her flower gardens and took pride in keeping an immaculate home. In 2008, she and her husband moved to Gainesville for health reasons.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alfredo Ambrosio ALVAREZ; her son, Alfredo Alberto ALVAREZ; her brothers, Antonio, Mario, Julio, and Vicente Redero; and her parents, Vicente Redero and Dolores Marrero Redero.
She is survived by her daughter, Idania Maria Alvarez (Rebecca Lee Blair); her daughter-in-law, Amy Louise Alvarez; her grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn (Matthew Smith), and Andrea Louise (Timothy Moffatt); and her great-grandchildren, Annabelle May and Ellyse Juniper Moffatt. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at the Williams-Thomas Westarea 823 NW 143rd Street Newberry, Fl. Interment will follow in Countryside Cemetery 10926 N.W. 39th Ave. Gainesville, Fl.
