Norman McKinley James Jr.'s Obituary
Norman McKinley James, Jr., age 90 of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015 in North Florida Regional Medical Center. Mr. James was born May 25, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to Norman, Sr. and Kathryn Martin McKinley. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, having served in WWII. Upon returning from the war he met and married the love of his life, Lois Ann McNierney, 68 years ago in Gross Pointe, Michigan. He worked and lived in Michigan until retiring in 1986, in which time he moved to Kapalua, HI and then joined his son and daughter in Gainesville, FL in 2001. He was active throughout his life in the Episcopal Church, most recently Trinity Episcopal Church in Melrose.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Ann Norman of Gainesville, FL; children, Christopher (Hillary) James and Susan (Michael) Gardner; four grandchildren, Kathryn and Colleen James and Jennifer and Ashley Gardner and two great grandchildren, Bentley and Gabriel.
A memorial service will be held at The Atrium, date and time to be announced.
