Norma B. Shore's Obituary
Norma B. Shore, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2017. She was born in New York City on September 12, 1928 to Sidney and Romayne Bruck.
She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, married Robert K. Shore and they embarked upon a new life together in Lakeland, Florida. She and Bob founded R.K. Shore Real Estate, which was a successful real estate company for over 20 years. Norma was active in the community and served on the Planning and Zoning Board for many years. She was recognized as Realtor of the Year several times. She and Bob moved to Gainesville in 1986.
Norma enjoyed spending time with her family along with playing Bridge and was an active volunteer at The Village where she lived. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her kindness to other, her incredible compassion, and she was always called upon for her sound advice and genuine concern for others. She was always cheerful and had a smile on her face. She was deeply admired and respected by all.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Norma was predeceased by her husband, Bob. She leaves three children, Fred Shore (Kelly), Carolyn Shore Stienke (Buck) of Gainesville, TX and Melanie Shore Schackow (Ray); four grandchildren, Ashley Marie Jones (David), Daniel Kriser Shore (Meghan), Emily Anne Campbell (Sean), Ali Schackow and six great grandchildren, Ethan Michael Jones, Elizabeth Marie Jones, Elliot David Jones, Esther Diane Jones, Samuel Kriser Shore and Lucas Daniel Shore.
A service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at The Rock Church with Pastor George Brantley officiating, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, Norma requested donations be made to the Neuropathy Association, 60 East 42nd Street, Suite 942, New York, NY 10165 or Trinity United Methodist Church, 400 NW 53rd Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32653.
