Norma Lee Emond's Obituary
Norma Lee Emond - wife, mother, Grandmother, great grandmother and friend to so many - passed away July 7, 2026. The second daughter to Pryor and Helen Upton, Norma grew up for a short time in Madisonville, TN. The family then moved to Oak Park, IL where she spent her formative years. In 1959 Norma met the love of her life, George Patrick “Pat” Emond; they married in 1966. Together for 59 years, Pat and Norma built a life raising their two boys, Derek and Jason.
Early on as a young mother, Norma was given a diagnosis that would reshape her life - cancer. Though she battled her diagnosis for most of her adult life, Norma never let cancer take over her life. Perseverance, determination and the love of her family and friends helped to create a happy, well-balanced life.
Norma and Pat were able to accomplish many dreams during their long years together; raising two successful children, taking numerous trips to Hawaii, retiring early and moving to Florida. Norma was a kind and loving soul with a smile that lit up the room; she has passed on to her next journey with the loving memories of her husband, precious sons, grandchildren, great grandchild, dear sister, family and friends to keep her company. Norma will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and the love she shared will continue to live on in our memories forever. The celebration of life gathering will be determined at a future date.
