Nola Summers Mountain's Obituary
Micanopy-Nola Summers Mountain passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at E. T. York Hospice Care Center. She was born to L. Robert Summers and Lou Taylor Summers September 26, 1922 in rural Williston, Florida, where she grew up. She graduated from Reddick High School and attended business school in Ocala. She graduated with honors from Santa Fe Community College with a degree in Food Service and Management Technology. She was a long-time active member of Micanopy United Methodist Church and was on various committees, including serving as church treasurer for several years.
Her parents, two sisters, a brother, son-in-law and her husband preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Tyson of Micanopy; son, John R. “Bobby” Mountain of Gainesville; grandson, Sean R. Mountain (Alicia) of Gainesville; granddaughter, April M. String (David) of Merritt Island; six great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ina Summers of Alachua; daughter-in-law, Pansy Poppell of Gainesville; several nieces and nephews and her church family.
A Celebration of Nola’s life will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., in Micanopy United Methodist Church with Pastor D.J. Muszynski officiating.
Nola has requested that no flowers nor memorials be given in her name.
