Nola Ann (Little) Anderson's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Nola Ann (Little) Anderson
Nola Ann Anderson, a cherished mother, beloved grandmother, affectionately known as "Mimi," devoted wife, sister, and aunt, passed away at HCA North Florida Hospital on October 2nd, 2023, at the age of 68. She was born on February 24th, 1955, in Frankfurt, Germany, before moving with her family to Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina. Nola was preceded in death by her loving father, James Edward Little, and her dear mother, Elfriede Arndt Little.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of thirty-seven years, Warren Robert Newhouse; her adoring son, Ryan Wesley Anderson, and his loving wife, Stephany Jean Anderson; her encouraging brother, Heinz Walter Little, and her caring sister-in-law, Debbie Peoples Little; as well as her nieces, Tracey Little Woodson and Kelly Little Rabalais. Her most treasured legacy lives on in her precious grandchildren, Scarlett Jean Anderson, Caroline Faith Anderson, and Thomas Ryan Anderson.
Nola's journey through life was a remarkable one. After her graduation from the University of South Carolina, she relocated to Gainesville in 1981, where she served as the Assistant Manager at the local AAA Travel & Insurance office for several years.
In 1990, Nola embraced a new challenge, dedicating her talents to the Department of Children and Families for the State of Florida in Child Support Enforcement. Her unwavering commitment and expertise garnered numerous performance awards and positioned her as one of the State's foremost instructors in establishing hospital-based paternity. In 1997, Nola's exceptional performance caught the attention of esteemed family law firm, Wershow and Schneider, P.A. This marked the beginning of her distinguished 26-year career as a legal assistant and paralegal, where she passionately fought for the rights of families in Alachua, Marion, and Putnam counties. Her journey culminated in her current role at Scruggs, Carmichael & Wershow, P.A.
Beyond her professional achievements, Nola was a devoted mother and friend. She reveled in attending her son's sporting events, exploring antique and craft shows, and embarking on weekend getaways with friends. However Mexican food and margaritas with her family and friends was always her favorite way to spend an evening.
May Nola's spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts, and her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were privileged to know her.
A private event will be held the week of October 9th. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made in Nola's name to the University of South Carolina's Gamecock Athletics Excellence Fund.
