Noah "Cliff" Davis' Obituary
MOH 2019
When I pass away and go home to the Lord, I would hope this would be said about me.
Today we celebrate the life of Noah Clifton Davis. Cliff was born at an early age he would always say. He was born May 7, 1942, at home in Graham, Florida early one morning.
Cliff graduated from Gainesville High School in 1960. If you knew your colors and could count to 20 you were passed. Cliff played football and ran the mile for the purple hurricanes. If you have been around Cliff at all he likes to recall the glory days.
Cliff was married to Katherine for 60-plus years. He had three boys that he was very proud of. Mikel, Kyle, and Matt. He took pride in teaching his sons to hunt, fish, and just be good men!
He taught them to skin a buck, clean a fish and how to fight and cuss. He loved his boys and told them often, he made sure they learned about Jesus and lived the best life they could. He gave them all he had to give, and it was plenty.
Cliff was never a rich man monetarily, but he was so much richer in other ways that meant more to him. Cliff was never bashful or ashamed of his faith in Christ. He came to know the Lord when he was 27 years old at North Central Baptist in Gainesville, Florida.
Cliff has an uncanny knack for telling a story and sharing his faith with anyone who would listen.
If you knew Cliff at all you knew he loved to talk and talk and talk. Cliff was also proud of his 7grandkids. Ashton, Gavin, Courtney, Joshua, Frances, Lane, and Audrie.
His family was his most cherished gift from God. He loved them dearly!!
Cliff also served in the US army.
He was an American thru and thru! He had his views and stood Behind them 100%.
Cliff worked for western electric for 25 years and then insurance after that. He worked so his family could survive. Made hard decisions that hurt him financially but were the best decision for his family. He sacrificed because he wanted only the best for Katherine and the boys.
Cliff enjoyed family meals and he loved to eat boiled peanuts and homemade ice cream. He like coconut cream pie and lemon meringue pie.
Cliff was a good husband and father and grandfather! He loved and served Jesus! He loved and served his family well!! If he were here today, he would say! Don’t be sad! I’m at home! Go have a party and celebrate! My going home party!! See you all again someday!
