Niokoa (Nite) (Nikki) (Adkins) Boyd's Obituary
Niokoa (Nite) (Nikki) (Adkins) Boyd born April 24, 1942, to Silas and Ona Mae (Green) Adkins in Gainesville, FL departed this Earthly life on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the age of 80.
Niokoa was the youngest of three children and was raised in Micanopy, FL. After marrying Thomas Boyd in 1959, both settled down in Micanopy and started their family. While raising her children, Niokoa worked as a bank teller and then as an office manager at State Farm where she retired after a long career. Niokoa loved many things in life- her children and grandchildren, family, antiques, horses, and reminiscing about the good ole days.
Niokoa is survived by her husband Thomas N. Boyd of Micanopy, FL. Her three children, Thomas (Tommy) N Boyd Jr. (Cheryl) of Melrose, FL, Tony A. Boyd (Jamie Miller) of Micanopy, FL, and Kelli G. Boyd (Chad Emerson) of Williston, FL. Six grandchildren Shayne Emerson, Clayton (Boo) Emerson, and Raylan Emerson of Williston, Ashley Boyd of Melrose, FL, and Emily Miller and Pace Boyd of Micanopy, FL. Brother Gene H. Adkins of Micanopy, FL, Vivian E. Sutton of Micanopy, Fl and adopted sister, Vergie Hecht of Hawthorne, FL. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Niokoa was the definition of strength and grace. As a wife, a mother, a grandma, a sister, and friend she left a legacy that has taught us to love and how to be strong in the hardest of times.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Historic Micanopy Cemetery 401 W. Smith Ave. Micanopy, Florida.
