Nicholas Reedy's Obituary
Nicholas Reedy, of Newberry, FL, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 1646 hrs. He was 26 years of age. Nicholas was born on October 15, 1992 at St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL. He moved to Belleview, FL in 1996 where he attended Belleview-Santos Elem, Belleview MS, and Belleview HS through the 11th grade. Nicholas later moved to Newberry, FL for his senior year of high school where he graduated and then went on to attend Santa Fe College. He served in the United States Navy on the USS George Washington CV73 in Yokosuka, Japan. During his service he received the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Navy Pistol Shot Marksman Ribbon. After leaving the Navy, Nicholas returned to Newberry, FL where he continued his education with Santa Fe College and worked for a time at Alachua County Sheriff’s Office in Communications and the DOJ. Nicholas is survived by his parents, Thomas A. “Andy” Reedy and Jennifer B. “Jen” Reedy of Newberry, FL; older sister Shawna N. Reedy (Josh Hall) of Ocala, FL, older brother Ty A. Reedy (Stephanie) of Summerfield, FL, older brother Kyle M. Reedy (Casey O’Steen) of Fanning Springs, FL; 3 nephews and 4 nieces; grandparents Mildred T.”Meemaw” Jackson of Quincy, FL and Harmon T. “Tom” and Patricia “Pat” Reedy of Summerfield, FL. Nicholas loved anything to do with sports. He was a “little Al Michaels” because of his play by play commentary and sports stats he shared while watching pro football. He played baseball at Belleview Dixie Youth, Belleview and Newberry HS; football at MCYFL “Rattlers”, Belleview and Newberry HS; and soccer for AYSO Belleview, FL and Newberry HS. Nicholas enjoyed online gaming, salt water fishing, time with his family/friends, and being a student of higher learning. He gave the best hugs, had such a beautiful smile, and was loved deeply.
