Nicholas J. Gonzalez Sr.'s Obituary
Nicholas J. Gonzalez Sr., 83, of Fleming Island, Florida, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born August 22, 1931 in Tampa, Florida to Leonard and Aurelia Mascuana Gonzalez. He enjoyed and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed the beach and mountains. He was proud to have served his country in the US Army.
Nicholas is preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen; children, Judy Brunn (Eric), Aurelia Matthews, Nicholas Gonzalez Jr. (Charlene), Helen Gonzalez Jr., and Jeanette Townsend (Barry); sister, Anna Hernandez; eleven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, 2335 Sandridge Rd, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. Those who wish may make memorials to the Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics, cureangelman.net, P.O. Box 608 Downers Grove, IL. 60515.
