Nicholas Anthony Gasparro's Obituary
Nicholas Anthony Gasparro, age 92 of Gainesville, Florida passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018. He was born April 5, 1926 in Yonkers, New York to Anthony and Sarah Laino Gasparro.
Nick proudly served in the United States Air Force during WWII. He was a Renaissance man, who loved to paint, act and garden. He was one of the first male nurses and was a police officer at Nassau County Police Department in Minneola, New York. He was an entrepreneur, a great Italian cook, and a devout Franciscan of the Third Order Catholic. Nick was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a full life right up until the end.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lorraine Rose Gasparro of Gainesville; children, Paul (Mary) Gasparro, Denise Keith and partner, John, Patricia Pagan (Rick), Judith Roche (Patrick), Valerie Morphew (Kirk), Wayne Gasparro and Jude Brewer; sisters, Anna Gasparro and Sarah Gasparro; grandchildren, Paul Jr., Elizabeth, Martea, Nicholas, Rachelle, Frances, Vincent, Derek, Rebekah, Joel, Lorissa, Nicole, Kathleen, Sistine, Zachary, Joseph, Christina, Giovanni, Sarah, Veronica, Banyan and many great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL, with military honors.
