Neil James Crane's Obituary
Neil James Crane, 94, died Thursday, April 21, 2016 in the care of Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL after suffering from pulmonary illness.
He was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and attended Thomas Jefferson High School. Neil married the love of his life, Muriel M. Degner, on May 1, 1943. Neil served honorably during WWII stationed at Ft Belvour, VA. After WWII they moved back to Colonia, NJ where they raised two children until they moved to Clearwater, FL in 1962. He retired from Prudential Insurance Co, as an Agent and Negotiator in Clearwater, FL.
He was preceded by his wife six years ago, and is survived by daughter, Margaret Crane Waldorf; son, Andrew Crane; four grandchildren, Laureen Waldorf James, Chad E. Waldorf, Inga Crane and Katie Crane, two great grandchildren, Margaret Lynn James, and Hunter Wilson James.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with Prayer Service at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd St. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation to be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd. Gainesville, FL 32606.
