We visited Park Meadows on the 4th of July and as usual, anticipated a wonderful visit with a delightful lady, one of our favorite women. Most often, we came upon her in her room with her tray nearby and her phone and bed controls on top. She immediately smiled and seemed to totally energize when we all entered. Most often pushing aside the table, we lowered her bed, and got very near so that Mulligan and Lilly, our therapy labradoodles, could nuzzle up and wag their formidable tails as they re-acquainted themselves twice each month with her. We were often told, "I really love these dogs" and we're fairly certain the feelings were mutual.....and truly shared by the human members of the Therapy Dog team, Jane and Dennis.
We were stunned to learn of Ms Nancy's death and want to share our sadness with her family. We will miss her warmth and optimism even as she lived with her physical challenges. We meet wonderful people in our work and we value their legacy and their life's impact on us. She will certainly be leading that group. We will miss our time with her and wish you all peace and gentle days where memories sustain.
