Nancy Ann Gil's Obituary
With heavy hearts her family announces that Nancy Ann Gil (neé McNulty) passed away peacefully at her home on June 29, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.
Nancy was born in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin on February 10, 1958. A graduate of Kettle Moraine High School, she lived in the Waterville and Eau Claire areas of Wisconsin until 2007 when she relocated to be with the love of her life, Antonio. Nancy and Antonio were married on December 24, 2009 and lived happily in Gainesville, FL with their many friends.
A devoted wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, Nancy possessed an unrivaled warmth and an openness for everyone she met. Nancy was a fun spirited and kind person who lived life to the fullest, with bravery and courage until the end.
Nancy always had a big heart and so much love to share, she was often taking care of people around her, as well as animals. Throughout her life, she rescued many pets, from reptiles to birds, and cats and dogs. Most recently she welcomed her dog Hannah and cat Selina. Her love of animals passed to her children as well.
Nancy was a creative person, and her late husband described her bursts of creativity as “creative frenzies,” in which she would spend much of her time making anything that expressed herself. Some other creative outlets she used were gardening, painting and jewelry-making. She also loved traveling to see her family, especially when she had the opportunity to sightsee around Scotland, which she immediately fell in love with. She enjoyed going to see her step-son AJ and wife Jordan and spending time with them in Philly and Savannah. When visiting family in the Milwaukee area of Wisconsin, she loved going around the little shops to see what treasures she and her husband could find.
Nancy leaves behind an unfillable void in the lives of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Antonio and parents Patrick and Patricia McNulty. She is survived by children AJ (Jordan) Gil, Atlanta GA, Jennifer (Ross) Penman, Peterborough UK, and Nicole (Brian) Kiedrowski, Milwaukee WI; granddaughters Evelyn, Caitlyn, and Joslyn Penman, Peterborough, UK; and her siblings Judy (Stuart) Oestreich, Shawano WI, Joan McNulty,Gainesville FL, Jim (Tammy) McNulty, Burlington WY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to her favorite charity the Humane Society of Alachua County. A memorial service will be scheduled in Wisconsin at a later date.
