Myrtle Alice Barker's Obituary
Myrtle Alice Barker, age 97, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025 at E.T. York Haven Hospice of Gainesville, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband Owen L. Barker, daughter Susan Barker, sister Teenie McCrickard daughter in law Janice Barker, grandson Christopher Barker, and nephew Stephen McCrickard.
Alice is survived by sons, Roger (Janice, deceased), and Robert (Wanda) Barker, daughter JoAnn (Mickey) St Clair, sister Sue Taylor (Harold, deceased) as well as seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and one niece.
Alice worked for Roanoke Mills/Tultex many years and in the summer loved going to the beach, especially Myrtle Beach.
She was an avid card play who loved to play Rook and anyone was lucky to have her as their partner.
Her house was the place to go for family gatherings for birthday parties, Christmas, holiday cook outs or to just drop by for a visit.
A special thanks to Haven Hospice. We will always remember the genuine kindness, love and care given to her in her final days.
She will be greatly missed and our lives will be a little more empty without her sunshine.
Fly high, until we meet again.
