Muriel C. Eddy's Obituary
Muriel C. Eddy born April 14, 1925, resident of Gainesville, FL went to be with her Lord on August 4th 2017. Muriel was born and raised in High Springs, FL and lived her adult life raising a family in Gainesville, FL. She was one of five children to the late Lee Roy and Ruth Couey and was the cherished wife of Virgil W. Eddy who passed in 1988. Muriel was also preceded in death by her brother Randall Couey, sisters Thelma Sparks, Ruby Imler, and twin sister Murray Phillips. She will forever be remembered by her beloved children Jerry (Renee) Daily of Jupiter, FL, Vivian (Val) Beach of Newberry, FL and Carrie Eddy Meisel of Tamarac, FL and treasured by her three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
As a young adult Muriel worked at Wilson’s department store but later found her calling as a homemaker to her family. Throughout her life she adored going to church, being in the hunting woods with her husband, painting ceramics, playing cards, and spending time with many dear friends. She was also, well known for her time and dedication to the Ridgeview Baptist Church nursery where she touched the lives of many children. Muriel was commonly referred by the ones closest to her as momma, granny, gran-gran, and Aunt Merle the Pearl.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11:00 A. M., in the Ridgeview Baptist Church, 3508 NW 19th St., Gainesville, with Pastor Bill Davenport, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rock Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Brooker, FL. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 5 to 7 P. M., in the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd St.
