Mrs. Linda Ambrose Wynn's Obituary
Mrs. Linda Ambrose Wynn, 75, longtime resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Monday, October 30, 2023, at the Shands Hospital at the University of Florida, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Wynn was born on September 27, 1948, in Cordele, Georgia to the late John Melvin and Mary Ambrose. She moved to Gainesville as a child, and graduated from Gainesville High School. Mrs. Wynn was a drummer and a past member of the University of Florida Fighting Gator Marching Band. She was a longtime office staffer for Haven Hospice and was an avid Florida Gator football fan.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia Madsen.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Larry Wayne Wynn; one daughter, Cari (Aaron) Miller, of Jasper, Alabama and by one son, Danny (Jessica) Wynn, of Flowery Branch, Georgia; by two brothers, Jimmy (Barbara) Ambrose, of Dayton, Ohio and Leonard (Gayle) Ambrose, of Gainesville; four grandchildren, A. J. Miller, Michaela Shadburn, Logan Wynn and Ellie Wynn, along with several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Macie .
Services for Mrs. Wynn will be held privately, and the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org/donate or to the Humane Society of North Central Florida, 4205 NW 6th Street, Gainesville, FL 32609.
