Mr. William Francis Sheehan, III,'s Obituary
Mr. William Francis Sheehan, III, 79, longtime resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Wednesday, October 5, 2022, in the E. T. York Hospice Care Center, following a long illness.
Mr. Sheehan was born on July 20, 1943, in New York City to the late William and Marie T. O’Brien Sheehan. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Air Force, having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Sheehan was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus; he was also a member of the American Legion Post #16, Gainesville. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and fishing but the real joy of his life was his dogs and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 48 years, Judith Sheehan, who passed away in 2016.
He is survived by his daughter Michelle Tyson and her husband Paul; one son, Sean Sheehan and his wife, Danielle; four grandchildren, Erin Sheehan, Madeline Robertson and her husband Hunter, Margaret Sheehan and Sophia Sheehan.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 1:30 P. M., in the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 500 NE 16th Avenue, Gainesville, with Fr. Lawrence Peck, celebrant, with military honors to follow. Interment will be following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River, New Jersey.
