Mr. Donald Leroy Hampton's Obituary
Mr. Donald Leroy Hampton, 76, lifelong resident of Gainesville, Florida, passed peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2022, following a long illness.
Mr. Hampton was born in Gainesville on December 29, 1945, to the late John and Bessie Hampton. He was a graduate of Gainesville High School, and a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U. S. Army. Mr. Hampton was a longtime employee of Publix Supermarkets, working for over 37 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner and a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was an avid Florida Gator fan and longtime season ticket holder.
Mr. Hampton was preceded in death by his four sisters, Georgia Martina Torley, Ina Inez Congleton, Katherine Marcelle Thomas and Lela Jo Stallons, and by a very special niece and nephew; Sylvia Marcelle Bruce Williams and Sidney Maurice Bruce.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 2:00 P. M. in the Eliam Cemetery, Melrose, Florida.
