Mr. Charles F. Hall, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Charles F. Hall, Jr., 86, longtime resident of Waldo, Florida, died Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville, following a long illness.
Mr. Hall was born in Ft. McCoy, Florida on March 16, 1937, to the late Charles F. Sr. and Dorothy Hall. He was veteran of the U. S. Navy and had a long career as a welder with Florida Gas.
Mr. Hall was a successful businessman and long-time city council man for city of Waldo. He was a proud member of the Mason and Shiners clubs. He enjoyed coaching all his boys and grandsons and granddaughter in baseball and softball. Mr. Hall enjoyed being a race car driver on the weekends and was an unbeaten boxer in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Hall in 2018.
Mr. Hall is survived by his sons, Charles “Chuck” F. Hall III of Waldo, FL, Richard “Ricky” Alton Hall of Norfolk, VA, Anthony “Tony” Blain Hall of Key West, FL, Timothy Ray Hall of Waldo, FL and James Darrell Hall of Melrose, FL, and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11:00 A. M., in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 North Main Street, Gainesville with military honors.
