Monica "Moni"'s Obituary
Monica “Moni” Lynn Sweat, lovingly known as Nana passed away unexpectedly and went to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 19, 2022. She was born June 13, 1967, in Gainesville, FL to Eddie Ronald and Patricia “Pat” Ann Lindsey Carlisle.
She was a member of the Archer Church of Christ. Moni loved reading, crafting, gardening, and spending time with her kids, grandkids, and pups. She fiercely loved her family. It was well known that children were always drawn to her nurturing nature. More than just her children called her “mom.” We take solace in knowing that she is reunited with family members who went before and whom she never stopped loving.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Leon Sweat, Jr.; children, Jared Sweat and wife Sandra, Trace Sweat, Makayla Sweat, Mackenzie Sweat and Rachel Curren; her parents Eddie Ronald and Pat Carlisle; two brothers, Darrick Carlisle, Matthew Carlisle and wife Jessica; sisters, Carolyn and husband Nick Donathon, Rhonda and partner John Paul Bass; grandchildren, Isabella and Amelia Sweat and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynette Lindsey-Ann Sweat and her grandparents, Eddie and Meveree Carlisle; and Ercell and Mabel Lindsey.
A graveside service will be held Monday, January 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at New Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Don Holt officiating.
