Minette S. Hendler's Obituary
Minette S. Hendler died peacefully and surrounded by family on November 10th, 2017 in Sandy Springs, Georgia, at 90 years of age.
Minette was born on November 10th, 1927 in New York City. In 1936 her family moved to Mount Freedom NJ where she lived until moving to Gainesville, FL in 1984. In 2010 she moved to Georgia.
She received a degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She continued her education with a Building Construction degree from Santa Fe Community College. She was an active volunteer coordinator with the Gainesville Police Department and the AARP tax program. She served with the Women in Construction and was president of the Fibromyalgia Association of Florida. She was a published free-lance writer as well as a member and volunteer at B’nai Israel Synagogue.
Minette was preceded in death by husband Louis “Lenny” Hendler and daughter Joanne Heltzer. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Hendler and Karen Warner (Chris), as well as four grandchildren, Chase Beisel (Amy), Lane Beisel, Melissa Mashburn (Chris), and Samantha Warner, and four great granddaughters.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., in the B’nai Israel Cemetery at the corner of East University Avenue and Waldo Road.
