Mildred Hunter's Obituary
Mildred Hunter, 85, resident of Alachua, Florida, died Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in the E. T. York Hospice Care Center, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Hunter was born in Waldo, Florida on November 13, 1932 to the late Dewey and Essie White. She has lived for many years in Alachua, as a young lady she loved riding horses, she was a homemaker and loved gardening and tending to her flowers. Mrs. Hunter enjoyed raising chickens and guineas.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ernest Katon “Ernie” Hunter; three sons and their spouses, Ernest Keith “Scooter” & Betsy Hunter, of Grove Park, Ronald Edwin Hunter, Gainesville; and Anthony Bruce “Tony” & Heidi Hunter, of Micanopy two daughters and their spouses, Kimmi Michelle & Michael Slater and Kay LaNelle Hunter & Anthony Clarence “Tony” Quast, both of Ocala; a brother, Leonard White, of Gainesville; Fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren also survive.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 2:00 P. M., in Antioch Baptist Church, 3612 NW 177th Avenue, Gainesville, with Pastor Daniel Kendall, officiating. The family asks that donations be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 39th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32606.
