Mildred C. Chandler's Obituary
Mildred C. Chandler, age 92 of Middleburg, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Haven Hospice Custead Care Center. Mildred was born August 21, 1924 in Fairmount, Illinois to Floyd and Hazel Southworth Conaway. She loved to work, cross stitch, cook and tell jokes. She worked at Scissors in Hawthorne for 37 years and Twisted Sisters and Company. She also loved writing letters.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Dorwin “Shorty” Chandler and brothers, Mark and James Conaway. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Marlene Conaway; niece, Cindy (David) Rhoads; nephews, Everett (Edie) Conaway, Harry (Sharon) Conaway and Charles (Tammie) Conaway and many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE, US 301 South at Lake Avenue, with Pastor Harry Conaway officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. She will be buried in Georgetown, Illinois next to her husband. Flowers will be accepted but those who wish may make memorials to The Gideons at [email protected].
