Michael John Shea's Obituary
Michael John Shea, 37, died February 25, 2025, of a sudden illness. Born in Gainesville, the son of Maureen Shea, Michael was raised by his loving Grandmother, Virginia C. Shea, since he was an infant.
Michael attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School, Gainesville High School, and P.K.Yonge. Even though Michael suffered from a significant mental illness, he enjoyed music, fishing, and basketball. He had a beautiful smile, infectious laugh and was a big Florida Gator fan.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother Maureen Shea, grandfather Jerome Shea and grandmother Virginia Shea.
He is survived by his Uncles Kevin Shea (Tena), Brian Shea (Cindy), Tim Shea (Tara), Aunt Christine Olden (Christopher) and Cousins Savanah Olden, Cameron Olden, Troy Shea, Hailey Potts, Cory Shea, and Sarah Shea.
A memorial service will be held April 12, 2025, at 11am at Countryside Cemetery, Gainesville. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Gainesville Opportunity Center, 1210 NW 14th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601 or www.goclubhouse.org.
