I will always remember his kindness and generosity of time and advice when I was a lay member of the Florida Board of Pharmacy. His care and guidance was largely responsible for the peaceful relationship between the physicians and the pharmacists in our State. Jean Chalmers
Karan, I'm so sad to hear the terribly sad news of Mike's death! This picture of him is how I remember him ~ always smiling! I knew nothing of Mike's life in pharmacy, but I know his love of art and his joy in sharing info about the art was something that was appreciated by the Harn and the many Harn visitors who were fortunate to have Mike as their docent when they visited the museum. I hope your many wonderful memories of the life you shared with Mike will sustain you and guide you forward in this next period of your life! Take care, and you'll be in my thoughts and prayers!
Mike was a world-class penicillin chemist, a great dean, one of pharmacy's greatest innovators, a terrific pharmacy leader....and a very close personal friend. I learned a great deal from Mike...and I will always treasure remembering our one-on-one discussions, our tennis matches (which he usually won), our Chinese dinners...and our friendship! May he rest in peace!
