Michael “Mike” Douglas Daley, age 67 of Lake City, Florida was born July 24, 1954. He departed this earth suddenly on May 21, 2022. Michael was born in Dayton, Ohio to Donald Calvin Daley and Bess Nianouris. Michael grew up in Dayton for most of his childhood. He and his mother moved in 1969 to St. Petersburg, Florida. Michael graduated from Gibbs High School in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1973. After receiving his high school diploma Michael acquired his license and certification in wastewater management. He worked for city, county and state of Florida wastewater management systems for several years before venturing out and starting his own company to help provide service to the entire state of Florida. in the late 1990s Michael started a new career in pharmacy by chance when he saw a notice on the door of and Eckerd Drugs in St. Petersburg needing help in the pharmacy and was hired on the spot. Michael worked for many years in all areas of pharmacy from retail to long term care facilities. Michael decided to become a travel or contract Pharmacy Technician in order to expand his knowledge and also ignite his spark of traveling. It was on one of these assignments that he met the love of his life and his current wife, Sayedeh. Michael continued to expand his knowledge and tried a new adventure in pharmacy that dealt more with nuts and bolts of how to make a pharmacy run.
Michael spent all of his time with his beloved wife of almost 13 years, Sayedeh. Together they enjoyed ATVing, the outdoors, and gator sports. They also loved going to concerts… most notably traveling around the country to see Garth Brooks. Sayedeh introduced Michael to UF Florida gator sports. Together they watched football, women’s basketball, and more recently Ladies lacrosse. Michael loved being outdoors. Together they traveled all over the country blazing the trails on their ATVs in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, West Virginia, and Kentucky. Michael was an avid photographer. He used his camera to capture some of the most beautiful scenery and people. Spending all of time with his wife was the only thing Michael wanted in this world. When you saw one… you saw the other. Michael loved going out to eat. He loved trying all kinds of different restaurants around the country. He always tried to find diners, drive ins or dives in the city he was in.
Michael never met a stranger. He lived his life to the fullest. His life was filled to the brim with kindness and love for his family and friends. Michael will be greatly missed, but not forgotten.
Michael is survived by his wife of almost 13 years Sayedeh Vahedi-Daley. He leaves behind a son Michael C Daley (Kimmi) and 3 beautiful grandchildren, Abraham, Ava and Theodore. He is preceded in death by both of his parent Donald Calvin Daley and Bess Daley (Nianouris), both his maternal and paternal grandparents, and many aunts and uncles, and cousins.
