Michael David Martin, Jr.'s Obituary
Michael David Martin, Jr. age 43, passed away quietly Friday morning October 31, 2014,
of multiple organ failure, in the arms of his mother, Lura and his Second Mother, Janet Tucker, at Monroe Medical Center in Ocala Florida.
Born on May 14, 1971, in Lakeland, Florida, Michael spent his early years in Lakeland where he followed in his father's footsteps by attending a Pat Pierce School, The Child's Garden of Learning. Once more, following in his father's footsteps, he attended The McCallie School for Boys in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After graduating from Cedu Academy in Lake Arrowhead, California, he attended California State University, University of Chicago, and Louisiana State University. Michael achieved the Dean's list every quarter during his college career. Michael's passion in life was writing, playing and enjoying music.
Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Virginia Williams of Archer and his fraternal grandparents, E. Snow and Mary Martin of Lakeland. Michael is survived by his loving mother, Lura Williams Martin and his stepfather, Samuel Shoemaker, both of Archer, his younger brother Mallory Thomas Martin, of Thailand, his father, Michael D. Martin, of Lakeland, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 2:00PM at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church 16976 SW 137th Ave. (Church Street) Archer, FL. with Dr. Joshua Braley and Dr. Don McGarity conducting the services. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Archer, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, 16976 SW 137th Ave. Archer, and FL.32618. Arrangements are under the care of WILLIAMS-THOMAS WESTAREA FUNERAL HOME.
