Mike gave me encouragement and support through many seasons of my life starting with our time in nursing school together, and he was the best friend anyone could ever have. No one could ever fill his shoes and he will be greatly missed, and hopefully we will all be encouraged to honor his memory by following his example of compassion and acceptance of others. I miss you so much already, Mike. Rest In Peace.
I am thankful for all Mike did for me and so many others. Mike truly cannot be replaced. My heart goes out to all of those that his heart has touched. I remember a tough time in my life and Mike was there for me. Mike said, " John I do not throw people away". When many would have shut the door on me, Mike was standing there with genuine kindness in his eyes with the door wide open. I am glad after I left the endo center 3 years ago I would send him a text on 8-13 to let him know I still thought of him. Love you Mike. John
Mike thank you for all you did for me and everyone. I have known you since 1990 and knew your parents way back then. I knew from them why you were a kind spirit with a big heart. No matter what snags we hit on this Earthly journey, we always came together united. One time you looked at me sincerely in the eyes and said "John, I do not throw people away". When others would have shut the door on me Mike stood there with the door wide open in loving grace. Love you Mike. John.
Sorry for family members of Mike Banks. Worked with him for many years at NFRMC. Enjoyed every moment. He was always professional. As charge nurse in the Operating room he cooperated and helped a lot with our department. Nancy Shank RN. [email protected]
Mike always had an open door policy at work. He was a great boss and always had positive words for the staff. He often provided emotional support and help way above and beyond what anyone would expect from a boss. He made it a point to work with staff and took an interest in everyone's family. When my father was ill and dying in the hospital, he came to visit and brought him an NFL REDSKINS JACKET he had...which my father, being an avid fan , was thrilled to get! I couldn't imagine Mike wearing it in case someone mistook him for a Seminoles fan though !! With great sadness we continue taking care of patients as he would have wanted us too. NFRMC was lucky and blessed to have such a kind, hardworking, considerate, loyal , dedicated and compassionate manager. May you find comfort and peace and know that Mike made a huge positive impact on so many people.
RIP Uncle Mike. I will never forget the times we had at your house enjoying Florida weather and Disney world with you all for many years.
You will be truly missed. Now rest in peace.

Mike's kindness and caring lives on in his daughter Melanie. When my daughter Heather started attending Bucholz as a sophomore, feeling lost and alone, Melanie was the first person to reach out and make her feel at home. Heather's in Oregon and Melanie in Michigan but continue to be best of friends and supportive of each other. Melanie, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
He was one of the kindest men that I had the pleasure of working with. He will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace. My condolences and prayers to his family.
