Benton and I were in the same class in high school. I remember him well as he and Kenneth Bible were popular "jocks".
I only ran into him once or twice since those school days. He was a lovely person and my condolences go out to his family

Benton was loved as a wonderful friend & neighbor. So many fond memories of his parents & sister. So kind and always had a smile for everyone. We will nice a dear friend.

Remember Benton well. He was in my class at Cowpens. Looking through our annuals brought back memories of Benton when I saw him in his baseball & basketball uniforms. I'm sure he will be greatly missed. Family is in my prayers
My name is Angela Mathis Griggs. My first cousin was Granville Elliott. Benton and Granville were good friends in school and they use to tease me when I was a little girl. Granville, Benton and Kimbo Easler stole my halloween candy one time.
I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family. I grew up at Clifton and went to Cowpens High. His mother helped cook our meals at Clifton Elem. I did not know until today that he had played with the Pittsburg Pirates. My prayers go out to the family at this time.
