Melinda "Mendy" Morgan's Obituary
Melinda “Mendy” Morgan, age 55 of Gainesville, FL passed away Monday, November 16, 2020. She was born on January 1, 1965, in Jacksonville, FL.
She enjoyed crafting and being outdoors and spending time at the beach. She particularly loved Sarasota and the Florida Keys as family vacation spots.
Mendy is survived by her husband of 34 years, John “Buzz” Morgan, and her two sons, that were her life, Brandon Morgan, wife Emily & granddaughter Anna-Kate, son and best friend Brooks Morgan; mother-in-law, Geri Tucker; sister-in-law, Jan Morgan; brothers, Buddy Martin and Warren Courson; sisters, Kim Clark and Lori Beth Visconti & step mom Laurie Courson. An uncountable number of great friends helped with numerous family dinners & time which inspired her 4-year battle with cancer. She was known to them all as a true warrior.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Paul Martin.
A Celebration of Mendy’s life will be held Friday, November 20, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry with Kevin Griffin officiating.
