MaryAnn Shiver Hancock's Obituary
MaryAnn Shiver Hancock, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on May 24, 2025 in Ocala, Florida at the age of 82. She was born on October 27, 1942 in Black, Alabama, the daughter of Lance Shiver and Lottie Mae Tucker Shiver.
Married in 1962, MaryAnn and David raised their family in Gainesville, Florida where she worked in medical insurance and billing for the office of Doctors Thomas, Herbert, Jordan and Menzies, and then as a Secretary for the Department of Pathology at the University of Florida until she retired in 2009.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, David E. Hancock; her loving sons David E. Hancock, Jr. and Gregory Scott Nash; daughter in law Sherell Hancock; son in law Kevin Nash; grandson Christopher D. Hancock and granddaughter Courtney Hancock Glancy. She also leaves behind her sister Sharon P. Compton and brothers Lance Shiver, Jr. and Randy Stephen Shiver. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Raymond.
She will be forever in our hearts and never forgotten.
