MaryAnn Bonus' Obituary
MaryAnn Bonus, age 80 of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016. She was born March 6, 1935 in Berwyn, Illinois to Albert and Frances Borowiak Lawrentz. MaryAnn was a beautiful person and saw everything in life through that kind of lens. She never met a stranger and her smile was contagious. She was a good golfer and bridge player and loved playing games and puzzles with friends and family. She also enjoyed traveling. MaryAnn volunteered with the Women’s Auxiliary at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois for 30 years. She was the best wife, mother and grandmother anyone could ever have and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Robert “Bob” Bonus of Gainesville, FL; children, Kathleen Sands (David) of Akron, OH and Ken Bonus (Cyndi) of West Des Moines, IA; brother, Ronnie Lawrentz of Winfield, IL; sister-in-law, Sonia Lawrentz of Brookfield, IL and grandchildren, Jay, Shayna, Evie, Alyssa, Carolyne, Robbie, Thomas, and Katie. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Lawrentz.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 8, 2016 at 9:30 a.m., in Holy Faith Catholic Church, 747 NW 43rd Street, with Fr. John Phillips as celebrant. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 7, 2016, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Oak Hammock Benevolent Fund, 5100 SW 25th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32608.
