Mary Jean Walsh's Obituary
Mary Jean Walsh, 65, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 in Gainesville Florida after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her father John, she is survived by her mother Claire Walsh of St Augustine FL, 3 sisters, and many nieces and nephews with their children, in addition to her most beloved companion, a beautiful golden retriever Riley.
Mary was most notably known around Gainesville as a respected CPA who was recently awarded the 2024 North Central Florida Estate Planning Council Legacy Award. Mary’s career began in 1984, remained, and ended with James Moore & Co where she was admitted to partnership in 1993 until her passing. She served as member of the AGN Tax Core Leadership Team and served in various roles where she helped to foster and grow professionals in her field by modeling integrity, self determination, and empowerment.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, August 29, 2025 at Santa Fe River Ranch from 4pm- 8pm, to honor the memory of such a spectacular person we were lucky enough to know and love.
