Mary E. Tillis' Obituary
Mary E. Tillis, age 90 of Earleton, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 in North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was born September 8, 1923 in Newark, Delaware. Mary moved to Florida during WWII and went to work packing parachutes for the US Army. A longtime member of Orange Heights Baptist Church, Mary enjoyed teaching Sunday school. She also loved cooking and bowling.
She is survived by her husband, Brince Tillis of Earleton, FL; two daughters, Roberta Clarke (Robert) of Hampton, FL and Katherine Modisette of Earleton, FL; one son, Terry Harp of Keystone Heights, FL; sisters, Lois Griffis (Stanley) of Lewes, DE, Janet Grooves (Bob) of South Beloit, IL and Betty Jean Griffith of Dover, DE; brother, Clyde Crow of Maryland; grandchildren, Brince, Shawn (Ruth) and Timothy (Laura) and great grandchildren, Caitlin, Brince and Christopher.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., at Orange Heights Baptist Church, 16700 NE State Road 26, with Pastor Lonnie Broome officiating. Burial will follow in Saluda Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
