Mary Ruth Wroten Tillery's Obituary
Mary Ruth Wroten Tillery of Melrose, Florida, age 93, passed away on August 17, 2020, due to a brief illness. She was born in Lake Worth, Florida on November 17, 1926, the daughter of the late Clifton Roy Wroten and the late Adeline Isabelle Barge Wroten. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Paul Tillery, and their daughter Leigh Ann Tillery.
She is survived by her brother Lee Allen Wroten of Young Harris, Georgia, his wife Pat, and their family; her son, Reid Frank Tillery of Melrose, Florida, and his wife Sue; and her grandson Warren Michael Tillery and his wife Leslie, of McDonough, Georgia.
Mrs. Tillery graduated from Pahokee High School in 1944. She attended Brevard College in Brevard, North Carolina. Later she attended Emory University where she studied nursing. She later went to nurses training at Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
She and her husband raised their family in Pahokee, Florida. She was primarily a homemaker, but also worked at Everglades Memorial Hospital in Pahokee, and served also as a substitute teacher, as well as a social worker.
She enjoyed her home and her family, and reading her Bible.
