Mary Barbara Roane's Obituary
Mary Barbara Roane passed away peacefully on Feb. 6, 2024, Surrounded by her family.
Mary was proceeded in death by her parents Leo JR. and Marie Sheehy.
She was born in Lubbock Texas on April 13, 1957. As a daughter of an Air Force Major, Mary lived in many States and Countries until her parents settled in Gainesville in 1975. It was there Mary met the love of her life, Gene Roane, whom she would marry in 1982.
ln 1994 joyously their son Andrew was born. The second love of her life.
Mary attended Santa Fe Community college nursing program and later became a hair stylist and part owner of the Atrium hair salon for over 35 years. She had a personality like no other. She cherished her family and friends. She loved her dogs, the Gator games, her clients at the Atrium Salon, snow skiing trips and weekends at Ormond Beach.
We will miss our "Rock-in Rican".
Mary is survived by her husband of 42 years, Gene Roane, her son Andrew Palmer Roane, her sisters Catherine Sheehy and Lisa Duraney.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church 10900 S.W 24th Ave Gainesville with Fr. Alberto Esposito as celebrant.
