Mary Louise Millican's Obituary
Mary Louise Millican, 90, longtime resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in the E. T. York Hospice Care Center, following a long illness.
Mrs. Millican was born March 8, 1926 in Miami, Florida to the late Richard and Flossie Palmer. She moved to Gainesville in 1962 where she was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Millican loved her flowers and tending her garden. She was preceded in death by two children, Wesley Millican, Jr., and Gwen Ryle.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Eugene Wesley Millican; four daughters, Diane (Jimmy) Hazen, of Crawfordville, Jean (Richard) Shellnut, of Bronson, Brenda (Randy) Law, of Archer, and Elaine (Sidney) Hazen, of LaCrosse; a son-in-law, Rick Ryle, of Gainesville; a brother, Richard (Drema) Palmer, of Ocala; seven grandchildren, Denise Burkhalter, Sandra Ryle, Jim and Jeff Hazen, Lisa Nicholson, Jessica Cowart, and Nikki Hazen. Thirteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be private, and the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Post Office Box 96011, Washington, D. C. 20090.
