Mary Evelyn Lower's Obituary
Mary Evelyn Lower passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on January 13, 2024. She was 84 years old.
Mary was born in Akron, Ohio. She lived in Barberton, Ohio until 1957 (18 years old) when her family moved to Gainesville, Florida.
Mary was an Elementary School teacher for almost 30 years. Most of her career was at Stephen Foster Elementary School. She primarily taught second and third grade. She treasured all of her students and enjoyed watching them grow up.
Mary was predeceased by her loving husband, Clyde Lower of 58 ½ years; mother, Evelyn Schoessow; father, Glen Schoessow; and brother, Richard Schoessow.
Mary is survived by her children Lynn Anne (Addison) Burns and David (Missi) Lower; her brother, Thomas Schoessow; and her grandchildren Zachariah (Ty) Lower, Shelby Burns, Caleb (Rachel) Lower, Luke (Kami) Lower, Aaron Lower, and Sarah Lower.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea 823 N.W. 143rd Street Newberry, FL.
Burial will follow in Forest Meadows Cemetery Central Gainesville.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s memory to Haven Hospice at www.beyourhaven.org.
